Near Bergerac, France

It certainly looks like it is going to be a tough week ahead. Wish me luck!

this blog may be quiet...

...welll, quieter than normal, as I'm off to France with the family. Ginny, Andy and I all voted for Portugal, but somehow we find ourselves in wine-country France (near Bordeaux to be exact). Hmmm. Not altogether surprised really, but fully ready to enjoy myself. We have internet where we are staying but I doubt there will be much action from me this coming week.

That being said, i've got a number of posts waiting to be published, all dependant on uploading my monster photos - so perhaps a flurry of activity in October.

My Top 25 Most Played Songs on iTunes

Because it's my blog, i can do posts like this which are an absolute waste of time:

All in all, I agree with this list. Well, of course I do seeing as it's a magical list that I do not know how to fudge even if i tried to. Oh. Hold on. I just listen to certain songs on repeat. Right. Anyway - I didn't do this, cos where would the fun in that be? Sure, I could have made myself look cooler (dammit - where's all the radiohead?) but I'm not ashamed of my love for Christina.
And the list also supports the fact that I rarely listen to albums in their entirety anymore*. Since my music collection lasts over 34 days and getting from one album to the next doesn't seem to happen fast enough, I tend to mostly listen to playlists i've created -thus no album has more than one song in my top 25. Which is a little bit sad as I think you lose a lot by cutting and changing so much. It's just that there is too much good stuff!!
However I must query entry 25. I can't have listened to Billy Ocean more than once. Ok, maybe twice.... 3 times tops. It is rather fun that song. BUT i maintain that there is no way I listened to it more times that a number of the songs which make up my top 50 (which I can post if you demand it). This is supported by the appearance of position 23 - Adam and the Ants? WTF? I don't even know what this song sounds like. Perhaps Dave has been stealing my iPod from time to time cos otherwise it makes no sense.
Oh - and has anyone tried the new Genius function on iTunes? Hmmm.
*on my iPod that is. at home I usually blast CDs through the house. For example the new (and brilliant) Elbow album should only be listened to in it's entirity and on repeat.
update
ah. number 23 and 25 are both on the Ultimate 80s Album (cheers patricia). Which explains a lot, although doesnt explain how the Bangles and Europe ranked lower... eh. all too confusing.

I am aware that - on the other hand - some of these are not very funny at all.

Update:
Perhaps I should have called this 'I'm aware that - on both hands - some of these are not funny at all....if your name is Dave'.
Cos I was all like 'Hey Dave, look at the funnies I put on myblog' and he was all like (in order of comic)
'I dont get it? Is she dead? Why is she dead? Did he kill her - is that funny?'
'.... I dont get it. Is he a robot?'
'... (sheepish smile)Nup. dont get it. Was the car driving on the wrong side of the road or something?'
'Ha. Ha'
'Whats he doing to the woman in the last picture? Oh. I get it. Ha ha'
By which point I'm laughing lots and lots and suggested that we had totally different senses of humor. To which he defensively replied 'But I got the Jesus one.'

Baby Steps

I often face down a blog entry as though it's a bit of a chore - because often it is. I seem to have such huge plans on what I might write that I assume that I need a good hour to sit down and get them out properly. So I leave it till later. And then later again.

Eventually I've realised that as a mother of 2, if I take this road, this blog is dead. (plus the fact that only 2 people read this blog so I best just get over myself). So I'm going to try to keep things rolling by adding silly little pointless updates like this one.

Cant stop watching: Gavin and Stacey (BBC Series)
Cant stop listening to: Elbow
Can't stop drinking: earl gray
Can't stop eating: handfuls of Fred's popcorn.
Can't stop looking at: amazon.co.uk. Damn online book/movie/music shops. You kill my time!!
Can't stop swooning over: Rocco's asleep face
Can't stop laughing at: Fred on all 4s trying to drink water from a rain puddle
Can't stop worrying about: an imminent flight to San Fran with Fred on my lap
Can't stand: Katy Perry kissing a girl piece of shit song being everywhere
Can't wait for: Heroes. Season 3.
Can't believe: the vast quantities of people that will vote Republican.
Can't understand: how it is that my friends are having babies and getting married. It's all so terribly grown up. Didn't we just spend last Sunday swimming naked at West Beach watching the sun rise ?

Just had a visit from Kym Kelly (with a sackful of gifts, thank you Ann and Kezza) and he became the second person to suggest that Mama Mia was good fun. Which confuses me as I had already decided that it would be somewhere in the ballpark of Mr Hollands Opus. And therefore openly derided. MIND YOU he did give me Ender's Game (Sci Fi book? WTF?) so maybe he's losing his touch.

And there you have it.

And you can have this:

The Last Goodbye

Well. So. Hmm. How to start the saddest blog ever?

Buffy left London. Returned to T-dot. Which has devestated our family in many ways. I have no-one to watch Maury with. Fred has lost his best mate and now has no-one that gives him extra-long wizzies and then laughs with him as he drunkenly stumbles into the rose bushes. Dave... well... he's inconsolable of course. But we are slowly attempting to pull ourselves together and get on with life. Thankfully a wedding next year (Congrats K-Dawg!) might be the excuse that brings us together again.
Here are the photos of the last moments Fred has with his beloved Aunty Buff-Buff. And a tissue.
