Daytrippin: Westward Ho!

The town next to Appledore was called Westward Ho! – the only place in England which includes an exclamation mark in it’s name. What a great idea, what a great name. It is also home to Royal North Devon, the oldest golf course in England, one of those beach-edged courses which is home to various sheep who largely ignore the ineffective course markers. Charming!

a bit of a map to give you your bearings. click here for the full interative version. i will be writing to google to express my disgust at their removal of The Ho!'s exclamation mark.

Grey is very in this season.
Not sure how I feel about the rabid horses running around...looks like it was a pretty frightening encounter there. Glad you all survived unscathed.
