Are these weeds?

from the fact they have appeared in less than two weeks and swallowed up my garden, I'm thinking yes. Plus they have little stingy things all over their stems. But they are somewhat pretty, so I am vaguely confused. I guess that was the weed's plan.

hmmm... they do look a lot like forget me nots! but the flowers grow a bit differently on the stem. plus they appeared 2 weeks ago and are now waist height and stopping other flowers around htem from seeing daylight.

humm upon first glance it appears to be a member of the salvia family (related to sage) this dies down in winter and is chopped right back, so when spring comes you have fantastic growth. The stinginess is strange though, however sage does have a fur over its leaves so perhaps still could be a salvia of some description.
Dave has lovely Salvias in his front yard in St Morris.
Will venture forth and do a bit more research.

My mother is pretty sure that they are Brunnera, from the forget-me-not family. She has some in her backgarden, and says that they self-seed and can easily take over the garden, so you have to cull them like crazy.

Google it, and get back to me. She wants to know that she's right ; )

Mmmm, pretty weeds. That's all I got, and no research will take place from this end. Straight up.
